Our specialty lines within the ‘Passive Fire and Smoke Systems’ section outlined within the Australian Standard (AS 1851-2012). Different components require inspection and reporting at varying frequencies. We support our clients in all aspects of the process, providing reporting, identifying fire and smoke walls, reports and remediation works.

The following are items that are checked to ensure the compliancy of Passive Fire Services:

  • Fire isolated lift shafts,
  • Fire isolated passages,
  • Fire isolated stairs,
  • Fire protective coverings,
  • Fire rated access panels,
  • Fire rated control joints,
  • Fire rated materials applied to building elements,
  • Fire resisting shafts,
  • Penetrations through fire-rated structures.

The following are items that are checked to ensure the compliancy of Fire and Smoke Doors:

  • Fire Doors (hinged and pivoted), and associated hardware
  • Smoke Doors and associated hardware
Our reports provide the following information when completed:
  • Relevant information on non-compliant items, incorrect materials used, unsealed penetrations, and areas of concern.
  • Relevant information on non-compliant items, incorrect materials used, damaged or missing fire and smoke door sets, damaged or inactive hardware and compliance signage.
  • Locations, descriptions and photos for all non-complaint items.
  • Quote to rectify the non-compliant items.
